Michelle Meier, Office Administrator/Grants Manager

Michelle is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. After living in Washington, DC for many years, the lowcountry’s natural beauty drew her to South Carolina. While in DC, she graduated from the American University Washington College of Law and worked for many years as Counsel for Government Affairs with Consumers Union, the nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports magazine. That work, which involved representing the interests of consumers on Capitol Hill, catalyzed Michelle’s longstanding interest in public policy. She then moved to the U.S. Department of Education, where she helped design and manage grant programs to improve student achievement in low-performing schools. Over the years, Michelle has kept her hands in the practice of law by providing pro bono representation of low-income clients. Michelle feels right at home with LCLV and feels privileged to contribute to the work of an organization dedicated to making the justice system accessible to all.
