Julia Poppell | Community Justice Advocate

Julia Poppell is a Community Justice Advocate with Lowcountry Legal Volunteers, where she works to expand access to justice for underserved communities. A bilingual outreach professional fluent in Spanish, she brings extensive experience serving immigrants, refugees, survivors of human trafficking, and other vulnerable populations.

Her professional background includes providing national-level consultation and program monitoring for organizations serving unaccompanied immigrant children, directing the resettlement of Afghan refugees in the Charleston area, leading community-based service programs, and providing case management and advocacy for survivors of human trafficking.

Julia holds a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is committed to advancing equitable access to legal services, language resources, and essential community supports through collaboration, advocacy, and strong cross-sector partnerships.
