Providing Access To Justice

Director’s Message

Springing Into Action

Beyond 25 Years of Justice

Dear Friends of Lowcountry Legal Volunteers,

As we step into spring—a season of renewal, growth, and forward momentum—we are proud to be springing into action and looking ahead beyond 25 years of justice in the Lowcountry.

For more than two decades, our work has been grounded in the belief that access to justice should never depend on income, circumstance, or crisis. Because of you—our volunteers, grantors, donors, community partners, the 14th Circuit Victims Services Center and Solicitor’s Office, the Lowcountry Outreach Center, and our dedicated staff—we are not only sustaining this mission, but building on it for the future.

Thanks to your support, the impact of this work continues to grow. In the past year alone, Lowcountry Legal Volunteers:

  • Closed more than 320 cases
  • Hosted 65 community legal clinics
  • Assisted over 2,700 clients and their families
  • Provided more than $3 million in free legal services
  • Mobilized over 2,000 hours of skilled volunteer time

These numbers represent more than services—they reflect real lives changed, families stabilized, and hope restored across Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton counties.
As we look beyond 25 years, our focus is clear: to deepen our impact, expand access to underserved communities, strengthen partnerships, and continue responding to evolving needs with compassion and purpose.

This spring, we are energized by what lies ahead. Together, we are not only continuing a legacy—we are building the future of access to justice in the Lowcountry.

From all of us at Lowcountry Legal Volunteers, we wish you a season filled with growth, hope, and renewed purpose.

With sincere appreciation,

A_Caywood
